D.O TERRA ALTA wines are produced in the southern inland region of Catalonia which gives its name to this designation of origin. Its vineyards are located at an altitude of 400 m on a high plateau of natural terraces of difficult orography. The soil is quaternary in origin, of the calcareous type, with a clayey texture and poor in organic matter. The climate is Mediterranean with continental influences; hot summers, cold winters and low rainfall.
